Gaming news : Lost planet 3

Lost Planet 3 is an upcoming 2013. Which is to be Released on 15 Jan 1213 third-person shooter video game developed by Spark Unlimited and published by Capcom for the PlayStation 3, Microsoft Windows and Xbox 360.. The game is the prequel to Lost Planet : Extreme Condition and Lost Planet 2 takes place on the same planet of E.D.N. III albeit before the events of the first two games. The game will take a more story-driven narrative approach to the campaign similar to the first game. Unlike previous games in the series, which were developed internally by Capcom, the game will be developed externally by Spark Unlimited though series creator, Kenji Oguro, is still game director. This follows a recent trend of Capcom games being developed by Western developers rather than internally, such as DmC: Devil May Cry.

Plot:

The game takes place long before the events of the first game , and hence the planet of E.D.N. III is still in an ice-age like environment rather than the tropical environment of the second game that occurs after the events of the first game. It takes place during the time of the first few human colonists on E.D.N. III sent there by the Neo-Venus Construction company or NEVEC, who later become the main antagonists for the series. The game follows the story of Jim Peyton, a colonist who is working for NEVEC and helping mine the planet and sending minerals back to Earth, where his family awaits him. The game, however, doesn't feature militarised VS bipedal mechs like previous entries in the series, and instead features mechs called Rigs that are the predecessor's of VS mech's given the timeline of the game. Unlike VS mechs, Rigs aren't militarised with weapons and instead are equipped with drill arms and claw arms for mining.

In the first game, NEVEC had become a dictatorial force on E.D.N. III having defeated the Akrid and only being left with defeating the Snow Pirates who were rebelling against their governance. However, in the game NEVEC has not yet become an antagonist and instead is helping make the planet habitable to humans by constructing thermal posts on the planet to combat the harsh icy weather conditions. Though as the story progresses Jim begins to unravel the dark secrets of NEVEC.

Gameplay
The game's gameplay will be more similar to the first game with a story-driven adventure rather than the second game which replaced the story-driven narrative with a simple co-op and grind-heavy campaign. Using the game's mission-based mechanics, players can choose to take on core quests that progress the story, or side-quests to help out fellow colonists on the planet. The game will allow players to openly explore areas in a style similar to role-playing games with the ability to talk to non-player characters, obtain side-quests, upgrade equipment and build their own bipedal rigs using items gathered throughout the campaign. Thermal energy will no longer be tied to the characters life support, and instead will primarily be used as a form of currency, giving the player more freedom to explore E.D.N. III. Once again, the antagonists of the game will be the Akrid, aliens indigenous to the planet of E.D.N. III.

Summary
Lost Planet 3 reveals new truths about the foreboding planet and the colonial history of E.D.N. III, returning players to the extreme and unpredictable conditions that characterized the Lost Planet series, now harsher than ever before. The game delivers a diverse range of gameplay including on-foot battles and intense first person action. With a number of multiplayer modes and a compelling single player experience, Lost Planet 3 will delved into the hidden truths within the unique and dynamic environment of E.D.N. III.
Lost Planet 3 introduces Jim, a rig pilot who leaves Earth to take on a hazardous but lucrative contract on E.D.N. III working for Neo-Venus Construction (NEVEC.) NEVEC's existing Thermal Energy reserve is running low, and the fate of the Coronis mission depends on the natural source of the energy supply being located. Realizing the opportunity for a huge pay-off and early ticket home, Jim braves the risk of the treacherous environment and threat of the indigenous Akrid. Acting as a home away from home and boasting an array of tools that can assist Jim on the field, the utility rig provides Jim's safety and is essential for not only his contract work but also his protection against the ever-changing climate.

Gaming news: DMC: Devil May Cry

DMC: Devil May Cry  is an upcoming hack and slash beat 'em up video game developed by Ninja Theory and published by Capcom for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Microsoft Windows. Announced in late 2010 during the Tokyo Game Show, The game is set in a alternate reality in the Devil May Cry series. It will focus on the player character Dante, a young man with supernatural powers who finds himself under attack by a seemingly sentient town known as Limbo City populated by demons. And it is to Released on 15 Jan 2012

               GAME PLAY
Gameplay
Dante uses multiple types of attacks to defeat enemies. He has access to weapons which he can exchange in the middle of a fight to perform combos. Although Dante is primarily in human form, the player has access to his angel and demon powers with each adding new attacks and allowing access to unique weapons and abilities. This is represented by the fact that Dante's black hair changes to white and his coat becomes completely red during a sequence of a Devil Trigger combo. Limbo's structure changes several times across the game (this effect is called 'malice'), giving the player puzzles in order to advance and requiring the use of specific abilities and quick reactions in order to survive and proceed.

Plot
The game is set in a parallel universe in the Devil May Cry series. The story tells of an alternate version of Dante (voiced by Tim Phillipps) in the fictitious Limbo City, a dreary city that appears calm at first, but transforms into a twisted parody of itself with demons and other monstrosities who frequently attempt to kill him whenever he is seen by the demons. During the game, Dante is frequently taunted and stalked by Mundus (portrayed in this version as a rich human-looking demon with a god complex), who seeks to have Dante killed. Dante's twin brother Vergil has also been confirmed to be in the game.

Development
The game was officially announced by Capcom at their press conference during the 2010 Tokyo Game Show in September, confirming an earlier rumor in the May 2010 issue of Game Informer which said that the fifth Devil May Cry game would be developed by Ninja Theory. The Capcom staff first thought that it would be entertaining to have a Devil May Cry reboot in order to revisit its recurring characters They chose Ninja Theory, impressed with their work on  Heavenly Sword which the staff thought would work with a Devil May Cry game. Ninja Theory's creative director Tameem "Pioneer" Antoniades stated that DmC's combat system would contain mechanics that would set him apart from previous Platinum Games' titles with Platinum's Hideki Kamiya being the creator of Devil May Cry.
Lead producer Alex Jones stated they still wanted to compete with Platinum in terms of gameplay and storytelling. The idea of a town being alive that wishes to kill the player was added a new element never seen before in the Devil May Cry series. The actions of Limbo Town are inspired by previous Devil May Cry games, where the environments would close whenever Dante was surrounded by enemies. Most of the game was finished as of April 2012 with Capcom aiding Ninja Theory in tweaking few aspects for the final product. Capcom became heavily involved in the combat system to ensure the character's responsive moves and add new air combos never seen before in the franchise. The development team included over ninety members with nearly ten of them being from Capcom. While Capcom's Hideaki Itsuno oversaw the project, Jones and Motohide Eshiro acted as producers.
They wanted to aid the Ninja Theory developers in making DmC play more like the previous Devil May Cry games. The release of the PC version was delayed for a faster release of the console iterations. Capcom assigned adaptation duties to QLOC, a Polish studio. However, Ninja Theory is planning to start launching of the PC version shortly afterwards the console version, aiming for the shortest gap possible. This will depend on the time that the PC version finishes development. As a result of speculation regarding Vergil being a playable character, Jones stated that Dante would be the only one controlled by the player. Dante's original design was originally meant to be similar to the ones from previous games, but Capcom told the Ninja Theory staff it had to be completely different in order to appeal to a younger demographic. While the original Dante was design from a Japanese perspective, the new one was made from a Western perspective. The final model was inspired by Christopher Nolan's film The Dark Knight as Tameem Antoniades from Ninja Theory commented they wished to make the character realistic. In an interview published on the videogame blog Kotaku Jones explained that he has received numerous death threats in the form of comic books and a metal song due to the controversial decision to reboot the series. Antoniades responded to criticism stating they would not change the design as the character is supposed to fit within the game's setting. Nevertheless, Antoniades stated that the gameplay would be similar to previous Devil May Cry games. In November 2011, an extended trailer and new concept art was released. In May 2012, Capcom announced they expect the game to sell 2 million copies by the ending of this fiscal year without giving yet a proper release date. The music for the game is being composed by electronic groups Noisia and Combichrist

Gaming news: Dead Space 3

Dead Space 3 is an upcoming third-person survival horror video game, developed by Visceral Games.. Announced at E3 2012 on June 4, 2012, it is the sequel to Dead Space 2 and will be the third main entry of the Dead Space series. Primarily set on a frozen planet called Tau Volantis, the game will follow protagonists Isaac Clarke and Sergeant John Carver as they attempt to stop the Necromorph scourge for good. And it is to be released on 5th Feb.2013

The Dead Space series blends the frigid vacuum of space with the disturbingly organic. Awful, fleshy terrors roam the halls of derelict ships and forgotten rocks. Screams echo through the darkness and blood. And engineer Isaac Clarke continues his fight for survival in Dead Space 3, the latest science-fiction horror game from EA and Visceral.

Dead Space 3 introduces cooperative play to the series proper for the first time when it launches next year. I sat down with freelancer and contrarian Michael Thomsen to play co-op and experience the dynamic between Isaac and Sergeant John Carver, the “brawn” of the pair. What follows are our mutual recollections of this brief -- but bloody -- affair.

Clements: The original Dead Space had enough scares in its first few hours to frighten me off for good. I blame my bedroom lighting and a killer pair of headphones. So this was my first time coming back to the series. I didn’t quite know what to expect, but I know you had some choice words to level at the original two games, correct?

Thomsen: It’s true, I didn’t like either of the first two Dead Space games (more on thathere and here), but I had a much more positive impression of Dead Space 3. A lot of people have worried that co-op will ruin the sense of horror and isolation in the first two games, and it does, but to me that’s an excellent improvement on what was a dim and shallow foundation. The most interesting parts of the demo to me were the fantastic sequences where we noticed that what was happening on my screen and your screen weren’t actually the same thing.
Midway through the demo there’s a cluttered room with an elevator we were supposed to go down. In my game there were a pile of toy soldiers by the elevator door, but in your game they weren’t there. Playing online, neither of us would know what the other is seeing and we’d just have to go on faith we’re seeing the same thing.

Later in the level, my character Carver went into a full hallucination where it appeared I’d been sucked into a hellish corridor and had to chase a mysterious character to the end. On your screen I was just scrambling around a cold metal hallway, surrounded by Necromorphs that weren’t visible in my hallucination but you had to kill them to keep me alive.

I totally love this idea. I think moving the game away from being a monster-closet jump-scare experience and making it an incongruent negotiation between players who are seeing and doing fundamentally different things is an outstanding risk to take, and a perfect advancement of the best parts of the series.

Gaming news: PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale

PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale (sometimes abbreviated as PSASBR) is a fighting game starring many characters from Sony developed games. PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale will be available on both the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita, and feature cross-platform play. If you buy the PlayStation 3 version of the game you will get a digital copy of the PlayStation Vita version for free using CrossBuy.

The gameplay and crossover idea is similar to Nintendo's Super Smash Bros. series and their compatibility between the Wii U version and the 3DS version. Those who are playing the PlayStation 3 version of PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale will be able to compete against those with the PlayStation Vita and vice versa. The game is similar to that in the Super Smash Bros. series in that it features characters exclusive to its publishing company's games as well as similary-looking combat style and levels. However the underlying combat itself is vastly different, with many similarities to Marvel Versus Capcom. Further more it brings a few new ideas to the table, most importantly a completely unique scoring mechanic.
PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale was rumored to have existed for several months under the moniker Title Fight. PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale is currently under development at SuperBot Entertainment (with the help of Sony's super-powered group at Santa Monica Studio).

Supers

By building a special meter for each character -- a la Street Fighter or Marvel vs. Capcom -- players can unleash a torrent of special attacks that grow in power the higher the meter gets. For instance, Sly Cooper's standard first level attack might be fairly unimpressive, but his second level attack allows him to bomb enemies from above and can easily kill everyone on the screen. And if you get to a third level attack, watch out: Colonel Radec will get into a body-encompassing machinegun from Killzone 3, while Sweet Tooth turns into a gigantic truck to rain down destruction on his foes. These attacks spell almost certain death for everyone else on-screen. So far in the game modes announced for the game, players can only get killed by super attacks.

To build the super meter, characters collect orbs called Action Points (AP balls). Orbs are received through attacking, certain moves, and the Nanotech Crate item. Orbs can also be knocked from opponents through certain means, like environmental hazards and items.

Development

All Stars is under development by SuperBot Entertainment. It's their first game, but the game is being co-produced by Sony Santa Monica. Deborah Mars (Fat Princess, Escape Plan) is the Sony-side producer.
SuperBot Entertainment is composed of staff that worked on fighting series like UFC Undisputed and Mortal Kombat, there are also said to be ex-staff from both Naughty Dog and Sony Santa Monica. These guys didn't just look at what Nintendo did and outright copy it. Rather, PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale represents the definition of iteration, an evolution of the style of game that attempts to take the formula to another level.
